Motorcycle & E-Moto GPS Tracker

A motorcycle GPS tracker gives you a way to see where your bike is when it’s out of sight. Fast E can supply and fit trackers to road bikes, dirt bikes and electric motorbikes on the Sunshine Coast. We keep the install neat, hidden and wired properly, so it keeps doing its job.

Why fit a motorcycle GPS tracker?

Bikes are light, compact and quick to load onto a ute or trailer. Because of that, they’re easier to move than most vehicles. A hidden tracker means you’re not relying on a lock alone.

A tracker can also help in everyday ways. For example, you can check where the bike is parked or see it’s still in the garage while you’re away. Many riders simply like the peace of mind.

Hardwired or battery powered?

There are two main ways to power a tracker on a bike. Each one suits a different rider.

Hardwired trackers

A hardwired tracker runs off the bike’s own power. As a result, you don’t need to remember to charge it. It’s also easier to hide, because there’s no need to reach it for charging. This is the option we fit most often.

Battery-powered trackers

A battery-powered unit is simpler to fit, since it doesn’t connect to the wiring. However, it needs charging or a battery swap from time to time. It can suit bikes that sit unused for long stretches.

Not sure which to pick? That’s fine. We’ll talk through how you ride and store the bike, then suggest an option.

Dirt bike and trail bike trackers

Dirt bikes often live on a trailer or in a shed. Meanwhile, they spend weekends at tracks and trail parks. A small, well-hidden tracker suits that kind of life.

Space can be tight on a dirt bike, though. So we look for a spot that’s protected from mud, water and vibration as far as the bike allows. We also keep the wiring tidy, so it won’t snag or rub through.

Electric motorbike GPS trackers

E-motos are what we do every day. We know how their wiring is laid out and how to tap into power without upsetting anything. That makes Fast E a natural choice for an electric motorbike tracker.

If you’re riding a Surron, Talaria or similar light electric bike, see our page on Surron GPS tracker fitting. And if you’re thinking about going electric, have a look at our petrol to electric conversions.

Monthly plan or no monthly fee?

Some trackers use a mobile connection to send live updates. Usually, these need a plan. Other devices, such as Bluetooth tags, don’t need a plan but work in a very different way.

We explain the trade-offs in our GPS tracker vs AirTag guide. In the meantime, we’ll talk you through options with and without a monthly plan before we fit anything.

What about my old 3G tracker?

Australia’s 3G networks have been switched off. Therefore, a tracker that relied on 3G can no longer send its location. If your bike has an older unit, read our guide to replacing a 3G GPS tracker. We can fit a 4G replacement.

Frequently asked questions

Where do you hide the tracker on a motorcycle?

It depends on the bike. We won’t publish our usual spots, for obvious reasons. Instead, we’ll choose a place that’s hidden, protected and close to a power source.

Can you fit a tracker to my dirt bike?

Yes. We fit trackers to dirt bikes, trail bikes and electric motorbikes. Just chat with us about your bike first.

Will the tracker drain my bike’s battery?

It shouldn’t, as long as the tracker suits the bike and it’s wired correctly. Still, let us know if the bike sits for weeks at a time, and we’ll factor that in.

Do you supply the tracker too?

Yes, we can supply and fit it. Alternatively, bring your own and we’ll check it’s suitable.
